What age range is KidType designed for?

KidType is designed for children ages 3–10. The quiz format adapts by age: younger children (3–6) are assessed via picture-based forced-choice, while older children (7–10) answer on a scale. Results for ages 3–6 are more variable and should be treated as a snapshot.

How is KidType different from MBTI or other personality tests?

KidType measures personality and temperament through a Big Five framework, adapted for young children. MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) is designed for adults and measures preference categories. KidType results show continuous dimension scores (e.g., openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, neuroticism) rather than four-letter type codes, though the 16 animal friends provide a memorable summary.

How does KidType protect my child's data?

KidType is compliant with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), GDPR (EU), and PIPA (South Korea). We collect only minimal data: a child's nickname (not real name), age, and responses. How are the 16 animal friends assigned?

Can I take the quiz more than once?

Why does the quiz ask who answers — parent or child?

Younger children (ages 3–6) are assessed by parent observation since they may not reliably self-assess. Children ages 7–10 can answer directly, though parent perspective is still valuable. You can take both and compare perspectives to gain a fuller picture.

What we collect

Assessments are anonymous by default. We collect an email and nickname only when a guardian chooses to save results. We do not collect real names.

Protection

Emails and nicknames are stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM). Passwords are stored only as non-reversible hashes.

Retention

Assessment results are anonymized after the configured retention period (assessment 24 months, observation 12 months).

Sharing

We do not sell or share personal data with third parties, and we do not show ads.
