Frequently asked questions
- Is KidType a medical or psychological diagnosis?
- No. It is a free, informal snapshot based on temperament and Big Five research. For professional assessment, consult a child psychologist.
- What age range is it for?
- Ages 3–10. Younger children (3–6) use picture forced-choice; older children (7–10) use a scale. Results for 3–6 are more variable.
- How is it different from MBTI?
- KidType uses a child-adapted Big Five with continuous scores. MBTI is a preference typology for adults. The 16 animals are a memorable summary.
- Is it free?
- Yes. Completely free, with no hidden fees, subscriptions, or premium features.
- How long does it take?
- About 3–5 minutes.
- Do I need to log in?
- No. You can take the test without logging in. To save results or keep growth records, log in (magic link / Google).
- Can I see the result again?
- If you take the test while logged in, it is saved to your growth records. Anonymous tests are not saved.
- Is my data safe?
- Emails and nicknames are stored encrypted, and we do not sell personal data. We follow children's data-protection principles.
