KidType is a free reference tool for children's temperament. These terms describe the conditions of use.
Nature of the service
KidType is reference information, not a medical or psychological diagnosis. It organises and reflects back responses across five temperament dimensions; it does not screen for or diagnose any condition. Do not use it as the sole basis for decisions that affect a child's life — schooling, treatment, parenting approach — and if something worries you, speak with a paediatrician or child psychologist.
Free of charge
KidType is provided free of charge and has no payment flow. Running costs are covered by advertising. If paid features are ever introduced we will announce it in advance, and results you already have will remain free to view.
Guardian consent
Assessing a child under 14 requires the consent of a legal guardian. The assessment should be carried out by the guardian or with the guardian present. Do not leave a child to create an account or start an assessment alone.
Accounts and results
Results belong to the account that ran the assessment. Sharing account credentials can expose your child's results, so keep them secure. If you request account deletion, the assessment results tied to that account are deleted with it, and deleted results cannot be recovered.
Prohibited use
Do not send bulk automated requests, reverse-engineer the service, or access anyone else's account without authorisation. Using results to rank, grade or discriminate between children, or as material for commercial screening, is also not permitted.
Content rights
Rights to the site's content — animal type descriptions, items, illustrations — belong to KidType. You are free to save or share your own results for personal, non-commercial purposes, but unauthorised copying, redistribution and resale are prohibited.
Advertising
This site carries third-party advertising, including Google AdSense. No advertising is placed on the assessment or results screens. Advertising vendors may use cookies; details and opt-out instructions are set out in the Privacy Policy.
Limitation of liability
We do not guarantee the accuracy or suitability of results, which may vary by developmental stage. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the service. This exclusion does not apply to damage caused by wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
Changes and contact
If these terms change, we will post notice on the site before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards is taken as acceptance of the revised terms. For enquiries, write to kko2349@gmail.com.
